Extinction Rebellion Poland:
CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE
From Monday, September 7th, we are making happen what we have been preparing for during the days before: a mass civil disobedience. We will block the capital city.
Our actions are suitable for everyone. No matter what is your experience, what are you prepared for, how ready are you to confront the police – you will find a spot for yourself both in the Rebel Town and in the Civil Disobedience.
Why do we rebel?
Never in the history of humanity has it been in such a critical situation. If we do not undertake appropriate action right now, soon we will lead to the desctruction of everything that is dear to us: ecosystems we live in, our civilisation, our communities, and the futures of our children and further generations. The scientific research leaves no doubt: we are experiencing a rapid climate warming and the sixth mass extinction. If we do not take radical, commited action, our species will also become extinct.
Governments worldwide have prioritised short-term political gain and private company income over the good of all people for years. Thus, they have made democracy devoid of its core. If the government stops to protect the citizens, and especially if they purposefully allow negligence endangering us, the citizens have the right to search for solutions allowing them reinstating democracy in its right form and to protect the society from the catastrophic outcomes of such negligence.
Rebelling against such an approach of the governments is not only our right, but also the citizen’s duty. All hands on deck – we need you!
